In March 2020, the Welsh Government made a commitment to deliver a Race Equality Action Plan (REAP) for Wales. They drafted the Plan to promote equality in sectors including Health and Social Care, Education, Employment and Income, and Leadership and representation. REAP is being co-produced by Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic community members working in partnership with Welsh Government. Welsh Government wishes to capture the views of the general public (including health professionals) on the draft plan.
I am pleased to inform you that the Ethnic Minority Women in Welsh Healthcare (EMWWH) has been funded by the Welsh Government to organise a virtual consultation meeting on 29th June 2021 from 7pm-8.30pm to address the Race Equality Action Plan.
It will be led by Professors Sue Wong, Sue Denman, Meena Upadhyaya and many others. We will introduce the Race Equality Action Plan for Wales and offer an opportunity for participants to discuss in smaller groups their views and experiences. We expect the virtual discussions to be particularly rich in four themes: Health and Social Care, Education, Leadership and representation, Employment and Income.
Your presence will be invaluable in getting our voices heard at higher levels. This meeting will be recorded for the Welsh Government. If you are 18 year old, living in Wales and care about Race Equality, then please join us.
The event is for all diverse communities in Wales. We expect the online discussions to be particularly rich in relation to four themes: Health and Social Care, Education, Leadership and representation, Employment and Income.
Duration: 7pm to 8.30pm. Bookings are via Eventbrite using the link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/158872874043
If you have any questions please contact Professor Meena Upadhyaya. Email: upadhyaya@cardiff.ac.uk

Ym mis Mawrth 2020, ymrwymodd Llywodraeth Cymru i gyflawni Cynllun Gweithredu Cydraddoldeb Hiliol (REAP) ar gyfer Cymru. Gwnaethant ddrafftio’r Cynllun er mwyn hyrwyddo cydraddoldeb mewn sectorau gan gynnwys Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol, Addysg, Cyflogaeth ac Incwm, ac Arweinyddiaeth a Chynrychiolaeth. Mae’r REAP yn cael ei gyd-gynhyrchu gan aelodau o’r gymuned Ddu, Asiaidd a Lleiafrifoedd Ethnig sy’n gweithio mewn partneriaeth â Llywodraeth Cymru. Dymuna Llywodraeth Cymru gasglu barn y cyhoedd (gan gynnwys gweithwyr iechyd proffesiynol) ar y cynllun drafft.
Mae’n bleser gen i eich hysbysu bod Menywod o Leiafrifoedd Ethnig mewn Gofal Iechyd yng Nghymru (EMWWH) wedi’u hariannu gan Lywodraeth Cymru i drefnu cyfarfod ymgynghori rhithwir ar 29 Mehefin 2021 rhwng 7pm ac 8.30pm i drafod y Cynllun Gweithredu Cydraddoldeb Hiliol.

Byddwn yn cyflwyno Cynllun Gweithredu Cydraddoldeb Hiliol Cymru ac yn cynnig cyfle i gyfranogwyr drafod eu barn a’u profiadau mewn grwpiau llai. Rydym yn disgwyl i’r trafodaethau rhithwir fod yn arbennig o gyfoethog o ran pedair thema: Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol, Addysg, Arweinyddiaeth a Chynrychiolaeth, Cyflogaeth ac Incwm.
Bydd eich presenoldeb yn amhrisiadwy o ran sicrhau bod ein lleisiau’n cael eu clywed ar lefelau uwch. Bydd y cyfarfod hwn yn cael ei recordio ar gyfer Llywodraeth Cymru. Os ydych chi’n 18 oed, yn byw yng Nghymru ac yn poeni am Gydraddoldeb Hiliol, ymunwch â ni.
Mae’r digwyddiad ar gyfer pob cymuned amrywiol yng Nghymru. Rydym yn disgwyl i’r trafodaethau ar-lein fod yn arbennig o gyfoethog o ran pedair thema: Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol, Addysg, Arweinyddiaeth a Chynrychiolaeth, Cyflogaeth ac Incwm.
