Community Wealth Building for a Wellbeing Economy in Wales

We need to change our economic system so that it works in the interests of people, place and planet. The purpose of our economy should be to generate good lives and wellbeing for all. In this presentation John will explore how community wealth building can help re-wire local economies in Wales to be fairer.

Biography

John leads CLES’ work in Wales and lives near Llandysul, Ceredigion. John’s recent work includes developing an insourcing toolkit for the Welsh public sector on behalf of Welsh Government, Owning the workplace, securing the future  (a report on employee ownership in Wales) and work to support individual anchor institutions to embed community wealth building, progressive procurement and foundational economy objectives.  John has significant experience working in political and social policy environments. Prior to joining CLES, John’s work spanned politics and civic society, with extensive local government experience.
